Brewing for ISFFI 2015
The 9th International Short Film Festival of India (ISFFI) hits the screens on 25th & 26th March 2015, at Shree Annai Theatres, Abirami Mega Mall, Purusaiwakkam, Chennai unrolling a vibrant selection of short films, documentaries and animations. ISFFI 2015 is an amazing visual treat, picking the best of the best from the 1150 entries that came in for the festival from more than 66 countries.
This two-day festival, best known for its diverse and cosmopolitan balance of films including various genres like drama, documentaries, animation, comedy, science-fiction and mystery is a festive bonanza brought to you by Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts (DBICA) and Abirami Theatres Pvt Ltd. to all the film lovers, media critics, film theorists, film students, and all those associated with film production.
Short films are unique in terms of delivering powerful and realistic messages, inspiring and empowering content, using best creative techniques and capturing the audience in a very short span of time. ISFFI in line with her mission, showcases the best of world’s short films. This year’s short film extravaganza comprises of International short films from countries like Australia, China, Cyprus, France, Germany, USA, Iceland, India, Iran, Italy, Jordan, Oman, Portugal, Russia, Singapore, Spain, Switzerland, Tunisia, USA and Austria. Indian entries that came in for the festival were from Karnataka, Chennai, Mumbai, Haryana, Andhara Pradesh, Kerala and Kolkata.
The Celebrities and Guests of honour who will be participating in the festival on the 25th and 26th are Mr. Abirami Ramanathan – Managing Director, Abirami Theatres Pvt Ltd, Veteran Director & Editor Bhimsingh Lenin, Director Perarasu, Director E.Ramdass, Director Kathick Subburaj, Director Ram Prakash, Director A.R.Venkatesh, Director S.S. Stanley, Director & Film Critic Cable Shankar, Ex MP, Actor & Producer JK Rithesh, Cameraman C.J.Rajkumar, Film Editor Sabu Joseph, Cameraman Deepak, Music director Justin Prabhakaran, Director Ravi Maria and Director & Actor Aruldoss.
This Film Festival is organised in collaboration with International Film Festival groups like Promofest, Spain, Aug & Ohr Medien, Berlin, Fuldawa, Film Grapho, Click for festivals, Freak, Moviebeta, Fest Home. ISFFI has also a dynamic set of academic collaborators such as S.R.M. Sivaji Ganesan Film Institute, Chennai, Don Bosco College of Art & Design, Department of Visual Communications – Sathyabama University, Department of Visual Communications – Madras Christian College, Alpha Group of Institutions, Bridge Academy and SIGA Polytechnic College. ISFFI continues to remain as Chennai’s unique and biggest short film festival offering an array of visual delight leaving the viewers enthralled.
