International Children`s Short Film Festival (ICSFF) is back again in Chennai, with 26 award winning children based short films from 12 countries. This joint initiative of DBICA and Don Bosco Egmore, to introduce short films of various genres solely targeting the children through a short film festival is mainly to bring lot of awareness concerning the situation of Children worldwide and also to Celebrate Childhood. This festival will be a very good occasion to bring together children and make them view short films that can elevate, motivate, educate and entertain and bring in lot of awareness regarding the issues that concern them. The chief guests who will grace the occasion are the hon`ble minister for broadcasting Mr. Parithi Ellamvazhuthi, Cine Actor Padmashree Vivek, Cine Actress Roja Selvamani, Film directors Mr. Balaji Sakthivel, Mr. Sasi, Mr. S.S. Stanley & Ms. J. S. Nandhini and the Arjuna Award Table Tennis player, Mr. S. Raman. The other official collaborators of this festival are Goethe Institut, City Montessori School (CMS ICFF), Eurovision TV and Auroville Film Festival. The film festival will take place at the Don Bosco Auditorium on the 19th November from 9.30 a.m to 5.00 p.m. The day is also symbolic, as it marks the 50th year of the Declaration of the Rights of the Child, which the United Nations General Assembly adopted on 19th November 1959. This festival which is being organized for the second year will have more than 2000 children from 50 schools in and around Chennai.
