The guests of honor at the festival will be Mr. Elangovan Deputy Director – Dept of Information, Actor Nasser, Actress Anjali, Rev. Joe Andrew, Vice President of Don Bosco Institutions, Music director Guru Kalyan, Director Santhanam and Actor Sivan.

This initiative of DBICA to introduce short films of various genres solely targeting the children through the International Children`s Short Film Festival is to bring lot of awareness concerning the situation of Children worldwide and also to Celebrate Childhood. ICSFF has seen a remarkable growth and this year it is organized in joint collaboration with the Department of Information & Public Relations, Government of Tamil Nadu. ICSFF 2010 is going to happily witness another greater gathering of children from in and around Chennai. These short films are going to motivate, educate, entertain and bring in lot of awareness regarding issues that concern them. Out of the 60 shorts that came for this festival, 27 internationally acclaimed short films based on Children and Childhood themes were shortlisted, and they hail from USA, Greece, Turkey, Spain, Egypt, Serbia, India, Honkong, Ireland, Netherlands, Slovenia and Croatia. These short films portray children`s daily life, their world of dreams and aspirations, their humanity and strength of character.

In view of ICSFF, competitions in Poetry and Painting have been organized in 100 schools, of which 52 have been corporation schools and 48 have been aided and private schools reaching out to nearly 6,000 children, targeting 60 students per school. Through these competitions the young minds were given an opportunity to give vent to their creative energy and express their skills and talents. The winners of these competitions will be awarded on the day of the festival, both for corporation schools and government schools separately.

This Children`s Short film festival is a joint initiative of the Department of Information, Government of Tamil Nadu and Don Bosco Institute of Communication Arts in collaboration with Don Bosco Anbu Illam, Don Bosco Egmore, Goethe Institut Chennai, Eurovision TV (EBU/UER), Switzerland and KRO Kinder Tijd, Netherlands.
